User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030115 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030115 In the last few nightlies, buttons on various web pages (including bugzilla.mozilla.org) appear incorrectly when the "Use my chosen colors, ignoring the colors and background image specified" option is selected. The bottom and right sides of the button are black (3d dark shadow), and the top and left are dark gray (3d shadow). Normally, the top and left should be 3d highlight and the botoom and right would be 3d shadow. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Preferences / Appearance / Colors 2. Select "Use my chosen colors, ignoring..." It does not appear to matter whether one chooses "Use system colors" or not. 3. Go to any web site that uses buttons, like Mozillanews.org or bugzilla.mozilla.org Actual Results: Buttons appear incorrectly. Expected Results: Rendered the buttons using the proper colors.

CONFIRMING on build 2003011604. Possibly this is by design, though I doubt it.

Is this still an issue now that Mozilla uses native rendering for buttons on Windows XP?

Yes, it is still an issue in Windows XP (SP1 home). In trunk build 2003072204, I am still seeing it. I will include a screenshot I took this morning.

David, I don't think that this bug is a duplicate of 58048. At the time I reported the bug in January of 2003, it had only been happening in the past few nightlies. 58048 was reported about three years prior to that. I just installed Mozilla 1.2 to check this. This bug is _not_ present in Mozilla 1.2, which was released long after 58048 was reported. Beyond that, 58048 describes something completely different than this. This bug is about the fact that the border colors for buttons and text input fields change inappropriately when the "use my colors" pref is enabled. It has nothing to do with background colors.

That would be when bug 156002 was fixed. It's still the same underlying problem.
