I lot hundreds of emails and whole subtrees when I first renamed my subfolder
from "Jobs" to "Job Search" and then moved it to my top level 'Account' folder
to put it at the same level as Friends, Inbox, Trash, etc. The folder actually
moved, but only two subfolders moved with it. The rest just totally vanished
from the system. I checked the directory structure. I even checked the Recycle
Bin. No luck. Dozens of sub sub folders are GONE as well as their email.
The subfolders existed after I did the rename - I'm pretty sure. But died on
the move (a drag and drop.)
Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Expected Results:
Moved the subfolder tree intact.
This really hurts. I HAD many important emails. Stopping and restarting
Mozilla doesn't restore anything. BTW, the two subfolders that didn't get
wiped, seem to have kept all or at least most of their contents.

correcting component, -> Seth. I don't know if rename followed by move always
causes a problem, or if something else happened.

Version 1.21 seems to allow only the copying/moving (drag and drop) of
subfolders 1 level deep. It will copy the subfolders but not the contents of
more than one level). All the contents then have to be copied or moved separately.
Then, sometimes, the drag and drop function ceases to operate aat all, requiring
a restart of the browser. Sometimes it will be possible to drag and drop (copy)
once (say, from imported folders) then not work again. The operation also
becomes very slow. All this means it can take a very long time to import and
organise email from another email application.

I observed this problem (as described by Peter) on Windows 2000 with Mozilla
1.5a and Thunderbird 0.1, it seemed to be quite easily reproducable. Although I
cant remember all my observations, it was observed while manipulating large
numbers of imported folders and mail.
I can test on linux as well if this is helpful.
