User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Using Mozilla at home I can access my emails at imap.myrealbox.com with no problems, however when I am at work Mozilla very quickly returns to say that the connection is refused. Outlook XP seems to have a longer timeout period to allow for the slower connection round trip times. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create an IMAP account at www.myrealbox.com 2. Setup the account in Mozilla mail 3. Connect over a satellite broadband link Actual Results: dialog box saying "Cannot connect to mail server imap.myrealbox.com; connection was refused." Therefore I cannot use Mozilla mail over the satellite. Expected Results: Mozilla should have logged into the server and downloaded the stored messages
Reporter: Do you setup a "socks" proxy in the mozilla proxy configuration ?
I do have a socks proxy in the configuration. Removing the socks proxy causes the mail program to connect to the server. I can now download my emails!?
it seems that you have a http proxy and not a socks proxy. mailnews can use a socks proxy and if the proxy is no socks proxy, it fails to connect -> invalid (no bug)
