steps to reproduce:

  1. elect one sentence in a long comment
  2. click on the reply button

actual results

the entire comment is quoted

expected results

only the selection should be quoted

  • Bug 1356599 asks to add a quote button.
  • I suggest the opposite: Don't add a quote button.

Do you still see them as duplicates despite that ?

The desire is to quote selected text, this only needs to be tracked once. If it's with a different button or reusing the same is an implementation detail to be determined on that bug.
