Using Mozilla 1.3a I found out that this version does not display 
background images on form buttons that have been assigned using
inline styles.

You should add a background-color:transparent; to view background images.
button's have default non-transparent background-color.

The patch in bug 184359 fixes this, I bet.

Ruslan, Mozilla 1.2.1 did show the background images in the 
testcase. Mozilla 1.3a doesn't. 

I don't know if IE 6.0 is a reference, but it does display 
the background images as well.

Chu, I didn't test Linux, only Windows. So it seems that
it is a Windows related issue.

Well, see this problem on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US;
rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030121 under WinXP, but not in 20030120 under Linux (built from
today cvs).

Bug 184359 appears to have fixed this one (tested on Mozilla version 
2003013108, Windows XP). 

Reason:
Broken in 2003010508. Works now.

I gave you a filter string for email=bazookacarryingmonkeys
