Steps to reproduce:

Leave Firefox open when computer is inactive

Actual results:

It states my computer is off line. I go to other browsers and also the network and says my computer is on line

Expected results:

Website open instead of saying my tab crashed.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Networking' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Are you able to replicate with logging enabled at about:logging with NetworkConnectivityService:5 appended to the log module string and logging to a file enabled? You can email the log to necko@mozilla.com.

I don't understand what you are looking for. This problem started with the last update on Firefox. I do not have any problem with either Edge or Chrome.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.
We would like to see some logs of the behaviour if you are able to provide. If you can enable logging and re-create the issue, that would be very helpful to us.

You can enable logging with the following steps:

  1. Type about:logging into the address bar
  2. Add ,NetworkConnectivityService:5 to the existing "New log modules" string
  3. Click Logging to a File and set the location.
  4. Replicate the behavior
  5. Stop logging and email the created logs to necko@mozilla.com

also: what open tabs do you have when you leave it sitting? Some websites will leak memory (which the browser can't control) over time; I've seen sites leak 1GB an hour, but leaking a few GB a day isn't at all surprising - washingtonpost.com for example leaks.
You can check the memory use via about:processes. You can also look in the Windows Task Manager, though it won't tell you which tab is using memory.
If the tab has crashed, that's different than being offline - can you go to about:crashes, submit if they aren't already, and provide the ID here?
