Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Reporter: please try this using a recent nightly. If it works, close this bug as wfm. Thanks.
It's probably due to a large bookmarks file : that is written when a window is closed. See bug 182373 and bug 101319
This problem seems to be tied to the size of the bookmarks file. When the bookmarks are virually empty, window closing is fast, but when the file is large (e.g., 300Kb+), the closing can be quite slow! I can hear my disk writing for a 3-4 seconds (after I choose to close a window). While this is happening, I'm prevented from interacting with any other Mozilla windows. Quite frustrating! I'm using Mozilla 1.2.1. Bug 133812 may be related, in that it refers to slow window closes.
Reporter, are you still experiencing this problem with Mozilla 1.3? WFM 1.3 on WinXP
Resolving as works for me due to lack of response from reporter please reopen if the problem persists with Mozilla 1.3 or later
