video playback on X is now broken after this morning's latest Nightly update

Steps to reproduce:
numerous videos on X this morning refuse to playback. tried restarting. no change. all videos affected. Had been working fine prior to the update this morning. Went to X, tried playing numerous different videos, nothing worked. they play back in slow stuttering fractured distorted ways now.
Actual results:
videos don't playback properly now on X. slow stuttering, distorted playback occurs after updating this morning.
Expected results:
Videos would playback normally without any problem or issues such as stuttering and distortion prior to the update.
