User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/125.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Session Expiry Issue:
Navigate to Bugzilla Fenix Bug Entry.
Log in with valid credentials.
Begin filling out the bug report form.
Leave the session inactive for an extended period (approximately 30 minutes).
Attempt to submit the bug report after returning to the session.
Insufficient Permissions Issue:
Navigate to Bugzilla Fenix Bug Entry.
Log in with a user account that has limited permissions (e.g., a regular user without elevated privileges).
Attempt to select specific components or areas that require higher permission levels.
Fill out the bug report form and attempt to submit it.
Actual results:
Session Expiry Issue: Users are logged out without warning. Upon attempting to submit the form, they are redirected to the login page, resulting in the loss of all previously entered information.
Insufficient Permissions Issue: Users encounter unclear error messages or the form submission fails silently without indicating the permission issue. This leads to confusion and frustration as users are unaware of the root cause of the failure.
Expected results:
Session Expiry Issue: The session should remain active for a reasonable period, and if it expires, users should be prompted to log in again without losing the entered information.
Insufficient Permissions Issue: Users should receive a clear error message indicating the lack of necessary permissions, and the system should guide them on how to obtain the required access or whom to contact for assistance.
