Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:127.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/127.0

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox 127, Win 10, Acer E5-575 laptop i3-7100u GPU i620 24GB ram.
Open Firefox (set to reopen previous session windows and tabs [2000 tabs in 4-6 windows]).

Actual results:

"Open Tabs" section of "Firefox View" is only populated in 1 of the windows, and is left blank in all others.

Expected results:

"Open Tabs" should have populated in all windows, otherwise I have to go hunting for the window that is populated. Once I find that window and land on that dialog (Firefox View-Open Tabs) the other windows immediately populate, and from that point on works as expected.

Firefox View is immensely useful, and is my main navigational tool for my admittedly bloated tab count. This bug detracts from an otherwise brilliant feature . . .

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Firefox View' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello!
I have tried to reproduce your scenario using the latest Firefox Nighty 129.0a1, 127.0.2 Firefox and 128.0b7 Firefox.
While performing the scenario mentioned by you, I could not reproduce the issue.

I have followed the following scenario:
opened 5 windows with various number of tabs (between 10 and 1000).
closed all windows
Reopened Firefox and restored the previous session with all windows and tabs
Open Firefox View and clicked on Open Tabs.
All 5 windows with tabs were populated in the Open Tabs section.

Are you still able to reproduce this?
Can you give us some more information about the steps you are following if mine were not correct?
Is there something else you can add about the environment you are having?
Thank you!

This sounds like its a duplicate of 1882210, and only occurs when there are a large number of tabs/windows as we wait for a certain process to finish before rendering all tabs across windows, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1882210#c13.

bart, are you going to the Open Tabs section of Firefox View immediately upon opening the browser - so as soon as the first window appears?

Before opening I shut the network off, then I wait a couple of minutes before I restore the connection, so idle windows do not load, to save memory. This typically results in all but 1 or 2 windows showing a blank unloaded tab. At this point is when I try the Open Tabs dialog in the topmost window. Most times that would be unpopulated, but not always; if it was I would then start pinging the other windows to find the populated one. I could not see a pattern, but I was not exhaustive.

127.0.2 now, and appears to no longer have the issue . . .

Closing this out as it seems we are unable to reproduce now.
