RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1761946

People

(Reporter: steve.patco, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:127.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/127.0

Steps to reproduce:

Clicked on the VERY VERY TINY icon to download mail in TB. Periodically, I would not get connected to server on certain lesser used domains. Status bar would say "checking server compatibility" or something like that.

Actual results:

One or more domains would just hang. But if I clicked file/get new messages/all accounts then the domain(s) that were hanging would bring up a popup to allow confirm security exception window. Clicking OK would then generate the missing emails. It seems that the cloud icon (if that is what it is supposed to be) will not initiate a dialog to allow security exception.

Expected results:

Well theoretically using the menu to download messages or the cloud icon to generate messages should result in the same outcome. But it does not. This will happen when (I think) a self signed certificate expires. I can't reproduce it unless certs are expired. And right now, they are all good because I used the menu to download all new messages.

Its hard to explain.....I don't know if I made myself clear on the nature of the problem.

It often goes unnoticed by me because that bad domain gets skipped over and all the others are downloaded. So it appears that everything is A-Ok. But if I highlight the bad domain and clik on the cloud icon, then status bar just gets hung on checking server.

Summary: checking server → expired certificate easily not noticed
Component: Folder and Message Lists → Security

So....? Is this being investigated or recognized?

As you know by past experience in bugzilla, when some does have time to look at it you will see it in the comments.

I ONLY ASKED BECAUSE 2 MEMBERS POSTED SOMETHING WITHOUT DISCUSSING IT.

We only fixed up the data. Anyway, it's the way it is for a valid reason.

So, anyone using TB could theoretically go months without email, thinking everything was fine? WOW
