User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0

Steps to reproduce:

It seems like downloading multiple files from same host may cause faulty timeout, failing all of the downloads erroneously with a perfectly working connection and consistent download progress.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Download multiple files at once where either the server or firefox cause all downloads except one to be left waiting. I'm seeing this when downloading images that other discord users uploaded, for example.

  2. All downloads except one will then be left in some waiting state, see screenshot. That seems fine.

  3. However, despite the downloads beginning to progress one by one, firefox seems to apply some faulty timeout to all of them and eventually just fails and aborts ALL downloads out of the blue.

Actual results:

Multiple downloads were in progress from the same host. At least one made steady progress. This indicates the general connectivity to this host is alive and fine. Despite this, downloads are killed off.

Expected results:

When at least one of multiple download connections from the same host makes progress, that should count toward keeping all downloads waiting from that host to be considered as alive. Only if none of them progresses anymore, should the downloads be timed out and failed.

Note: thinking more about i, I guess it's possible this is some malfunction on the server side eventually canceling all downloads. I actually don't know how to check or test that. Since firefox seems to have had issues with timeouts before ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1868987 ) I feel like it's possible this is a firefox issue, though.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Downloads Panel' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello, thank you for the bug report!
Unfortunately I could not reproduce your issue. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions so we can investigate this further?

Do you have any add-ons installed?
Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
Does this issue happen with latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/

This is very likely a network level bug, so I'm moving the bug there.

What would be useful is a http log taken while the bug is happening, see https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/networking/http/logging.html for information on how to do that. The network team will be able to guide you in case you have questions or doubts.

Yes, a http log would be very helpful.
In about:logging, please select Logging to file and send the log file to necko@mozilla.com.
Thanks.

Without more information we aren't able to do anything here so I am closing this.
If we get more information then please re-open this bug, thanks.
