Details

Steps to reproduce:

  • Set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab=false
  • Close all tabs (you should now have a single "New Tab" tab)
  • Middle click on the "New Tab" tab
  • For a split second you can see a search in the default search engine for "firefox urlbar search in bookmarks" before the tab reverts to an empty tab.

Unfortunately I could not reproduce your issue. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions so we can investigate this further?

Do you have any add-ons installed?
