User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0; AT&T CSM6.0; MCK IE) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021202 Several of my mail folders show only a couple of emails when in reality there are many valid emails in the folder. When I user the unix command "mail -f" on the folder I can see all the emails but only a few of them show up under Mozilla. Erasing the .msf and rebuilding it doesn't resolve the problem. The problem persists even if I use 'formail' to reformat the emails. My understanding was that Mozilla used standard 'mbox' format so that any of the mails that I can see under 'mail' should also show up under Mozilla mail. When I look casually at the mail file in a text editor, I can't see anything glaringly wrong with the format. This is very concerning to me because I am 'losing' a number of emails this way. My guess is that there must be something subtly wrong with the mail file that is screwing Mozilla up but not bothering unix mail. Any suggestions on what might be going on here? Note the problem doesn't happen to all mail files, just some of them. I would be happy to provide a copy of the offending email file if that would help. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Displays only a few of the emails Expected Results: Display all of the emails
I figured out the problem. Issue is due to emails that have been deleted but not removed as shown by the X- Mozilla-Status bits. This should probably be better documented since it confuses people who look at the Inbox and other mail files using an alternative mail reader. Thanks

Shouldn't this bug be resolved as INVALID? (there was nothing to "fix", it was a misunderstanding by the reporter)
