Steps to reproduce:
Thunderbird doesn't remember the last mail selected when changing folders (between different email accounts)
Actual results:
Thunderbird doesn't remember the last mail selected when changing folders (between different email accounts)
Expected results:
Thunderbird should remember what email "I was on" when switching folders (of different email accounts)
The issue was already reported here:

And it was fixed in a few newer versions of Thunderbird but then the issue is back again in newer releases!
@tssajo (reporter): thanks for your report. In which (exact) TB version do you experience this ?
Works for me in TB 115.6.1 and in TB 129.0a1 (2024-07-05) (64-bit).

Presuming this is about the behavior in unified folders, this has recently been fixed in bug 1903910, but hasn't been uplifted to Beta or ESR yet.
Well, this bug occurred for me while viewing Inbox under "Local Folders" which gets its email messages from two different POP3 email accounts.
The bug seems to be fixed in 128.2.0esr
However, 128.2.0esr has this other bug that is evenly annoying and may or may not be related to this one: bug 1917465
This only occurs when starting Thunderbird and it seems to affect the scroll position only.

That would make this not a duplicate of bug 1903910? But the counterpart bug 1902549 was fixed two months ago in the initial 128.0. How does that square with ...

THIS bug "Thunderbird doesn't remember the last mail selected when changing local folders (between different email accounts)" seems fixed in 128.2.0esr, so we can close this bug now.
Note: I upgraded from 115 to 128 today and did not test the in-between versions, okay?
