The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Fenix::App Links' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

:filip.dewit, can you please confirm that you're in private tab or normal tab. Private tab does not have the "Always" settings since opening your tab in an external app will give your data away.
I could not reproduce this on a normal tab. Please confirm if you're looking at the setting in private tab. Thanks

Yes it is in a private tab.
But since the last update of firefox the return to the app always needs to be confirmed. Something we did not have before. It shows a long message now to ask the user if he is sure he want to do this. So maybe the "Never Ask" option was not there before either but the behaviour has changed.
We use a private tab to validate a LOGON to AZURE servers for a specific application.
Application --> Firefox prvate tab login Azure --> Applicaton.
If we do not use a private tab the login page gives the previous user already filled in the login screen. That is incorrect behaviour for us since this is on pda-scanners used in a warehouse where the device are shared between users.

I see. I think this regression might have been caused by Bug 1877583. I'll add this information to the issue. Thanks

:filip.dewit, to confirm, the application that we are prompting the user is the same app that trigger Firefox Android for login, correct? (returning to the original application) Another thing to confirm is that the tab that's opened is not a custom tab? Thanks

Yes that is correct. We are prompting from and returning to the same application.
