What constitutes "too many"? What problem are you encountering because of this?

"Too many" is maybe a misnomer. What I mean is a lot of small files that are present in my profile folder
-
For the minidumps, sessionstore logs, crashdumps files - If you look at the dependent bugs, these files are redundant files that should be deleted. And these are getting accumulated over time. Maybe nobody on release channel has noticed or filed a bug.
-
The "Storage" files : They are a huge number of files (20000 files and 17000 folders) and they take up a lot of space (1GB+) .
The huge number of (small sized) files create issues with operations like - disk check, disk defragment, searching files on c drive, creating backup of the profiles folder with winrar/7z etc. Any operation that reads files tend to get slow. This is due to two reasons : 1) Inherent slowness of NTFS on reading many files, 2) Windows defender scans all files when you read/process them.

Seems like the causes are filed as separate bugs, what is the purpose of this meta bug?

Ease of tracking for me. And maybe a placeholder for others if they file similar bugs.
Happy to close this if you think a meta bug is not needed. Or rename it to something more appropriate, etc.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Startup and Profile System' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Please just file bugs on individual issues, no need for a meta bug for this.
