Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/124.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
I tried to move an email from one account to another, using drag and drop. The destination account is a ProtonMail (IMAP) account.
Actual results:
The following error message is shown: "The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxxxxxxxx@protonmail.com responded: header key contains invalid characters". The email can not be moved across to the destination account. Some emails can be moved. However, a lot of emails cannot be moved.
Expected results:
The email should be able to be moved from one account to another. When I try this on Thunderbird 115, there is no problem.
I have tried re-creating both email accounts and also have tried a brand new profile in a brand new Thunderbird 128 installation. The problem persists.

I should mention that the source email account is an OWL Outlook Web Access account.

The problem does not exist in the other direction, from protonmail account to OWL?

Hi Wayne, There is no problem going from ProtonMail to OWL.

The problem also occurs when moving an email from GMail (IMAP) to ProtonMail. I suspect this is not an OWL problem.

Can you try the exact same mails, and compare 115 to 128?
I would not expect there to be any difference in what gets copied. If there really are invalid characters they would be there for both.

Hi Magnus,
Yes, I can still reproduce.
Emails can be moved in 115.
Emails can not be moved in 128.
The source folder is within an OWL (extension) account.
The destination foler is within a Proton IMAP account.
This might have something to do with the OWL extension. I have reported this to the OWL dev.
I also reported this to Proton.
However, there has been no progress.
All the best, Daniel

Indeed if it's only from an owl account, it would be an add-on bug.
Can you reproduce with an imap/pop account as source? If not, please mark as resolved invalid.

I agree. This is probably a bug with the Owl add-on.
