User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0
Steps to reproduce:
Attempted to add new mail accounts to a profile already containing 5 IMAP accounts and a group of Local Folders. This problem has existed for a couple of years, but I can no longer find my earlier report. I have tried this with over half a dozen different accounts hosted by three different providers.
Actual results:
Accounts appear in Thunderbird and are synchronized. However, when Thunderbird is closed and reopened, the newly added accounts no longer appear in the GUI. The newly entered passwords are still visible in "Saved Passwords", and the corresponding directories and msf files still exist in the "ImapMail" subfolder of the Thunderbird profile, but the newly added accounts can no longer be accessed via the Thunderbird UI.
Expected results:
The newly added mail accounts should persist and continue to be accessible in the Thunderbird UI.

(Might be worth testing in a new profile.)
