Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0
Steps to reproduce:
Just open any PDF file on Firefox in Linux. Tab to other tabs or just tab to another window.
Actual results:
The text sometimes becomes completely garbled, like every line is being put on the same line. At other times the pages swap order so I scroll down to the next page, I end up 3 pages back and then when I keep scrolling I end up 3 pages forward.
The PDF reader is almost completely broken at this point. I think these bugs appeared a few months ago. I thought at first there was something wrong with the PDF files but now having tried many different PDF files it's definitely the reader that's buggy.
Expected results:
The letters should be legible and scrolling down from page 23 should lead to page 24 and not to page 20.
There is a workaround, albeit a terrible one, you restart firefox. If you do this the problem goes away but only as long as you keep firefox active inside the reader. I was hoping these issues only happened when I had other tabs open and tabbed between but they even happen when I have only one window for the PDF and another window for everything else.
I have seen these issues across different firefox versions and on 3 different computers (two Ubuntu, one Linux Mint).

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Can you create a screencast of the issue?

Thanks.
