User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0
Steps to reproduce:
Acquisition
- I visited a URI (
https://example.com./#, as an example). - I secondary-clicked to invoke the context menu.
- I selected "Save Page As...".
- I saved the page.
Deletion
-
I visited
about:downloads:firefox 'about:downloads' -
Secondary-clicked to invoke the context menu.
-
Selected "Delete".
Actual results:
Solely the HTML file was deleted, without a prompt to delete the sidecar directory, despite it being useless without its corresponding HTML file.
Expected results:
"Delete" should have prompted to delete the sidecar directory too.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Downloads Panel' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hello! Thank you for submitting this issue I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end but unfortunately I wasn't able to with firefox 131.0a1(2024-08-09) on Ubuntu 22.04 .
Could you please answer the following questions in order to further investigate this issue?
- Does this issue happen with a new profile? Here is a link on how to create one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles
- Does this issue happen in the latest nightly? Here is a link from where you can download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
- Do you have any addons installed? If yes could you please list them?
- Could you please send a screen recording with the issue?

I've attached a video file. This occurs on a new profile. Note that this is an FR, rather than a BR.

Apologies about the rather sudden stop at the end of the video file. It's due to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491496#c0, but the video still depicts all that it needs to.
