User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0
Steps to reproduce:
Set a quick filter search. Double click on one of the displayed emails.
Actual results:
A new tab opens, stays blank for a long time, and then opens a different email.
Expected results:
Open the double clicked upon email. It appears that this is caused by immediately double clicking on an email which is not selected. Click once, then double click and it works correctly.

It's worse than described above. quick filter, single click and the entry disappears and after a while the thread panel jumps to a much earlier place and selects a random document. if you leave the quick filter set it now works correctly on other documents.
I am running maildir if that matters.

More detail. It appears that the search initially shows a few entries and then after a delay shows them all. If you try to select before the second display of entries bad things happen. If you wait till the search is really complete it then works correctly. So the problem to some extent depends on how many entries you have in the thread and thus how long the search takes.

Mea Culpa to some extent. It appears I had body search on which of course slows everything a lot. But that was because it's almost impossible i the new UI to see which quick search categories are selected. Bottom line, search displays partial information and then add to it. If you try to select on the partial information bad things happen.

128.2 no change.
to review.
This is maildir
Body quick search immediately shows a few results and eventually displays them all. It's just as slow as in 128.1. There are about 12,000 messages.
When partial results are displayed, clicking on one causes the entry to disappear. Double clicking brings up a blank message display.
Once the search completes opening messages is normal.
I suspect the same would happen in other quick searches but in practice they complete too quickly to observe this.
Note that this is not a high priority for me now that I understand it. I rarely use body search and know what to do if I need it.

I assume this is a config option. I do not see that option at all.

If you mean the sync and storage settings, I have
Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer
and
Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age
checked.

Yes, that's it.
Is message list format in Cards View or Table View?
What happens if you disable status bar at View > Toolbars ?

It appears that this is a maildir issue.
Are you saying this doesn't happen for a similar account that is set up with mbox?
Does this reproduce with version 128.6.0 or newer?

I don't have any mbox accounts. I think it has to do with partial results being displayed and I don't know what happens with mbox.
I still happens on 135.0 but I can only reproduce with body search.
This is not a high priority problem.
