As mentioned in bug 1912460, jq version available on ubuntu jammy is 1.6 [1], and the nth command doesn't work as expected there.
I've added workaround in bug 1912460 to make the command work also on 1.6, but ultimately it's better using newer version of jq.

Given ubuntu noble has 1.7 [2], possible options would be either:

  • (a) bump the image to ubuntu noble
  • (b) install jq 1.7+ manually, instead of apt

bug 1922408 bumped the ubuntu version, and now jq 1.7.1 is used by the servers and also the docker images.
We can now remove the workaround added by the bug 1912460's https://github.com/mozsearch/mozsearch/pull/811
