Steps to Reproduce:
1.  You need to have a IMAP server and an account on it.

2.  Setup an account at NVidia employement page
   http://pljb2.rmx.scd.yahoo.com/pljb/nvidia/nvidiaemployment/applicant/index.jsp

   Note site I think is powered by Yahoo or something, so a
   whole class of sites may exhibit the issue, not just NVidia's.

3. Once logged into the employment page, go to 'manage job search agent'
   Setup match on 'any'.  Make sure your email address is one
   that is received my a server that supports IMAP

4. When Mozilla trys to view a message using IMAP originating
   from server used by the 'job search agent' setup above, then
   Mozilla seems to attempt to load/view the message
   but never seems to finish.  View pane sometimes shows some of the
   message sometimes shows nothing.

   Sometimes this spin will affect all addition IMAP activity and
   Mozilla will have to be restarted to be able to view messages that are
   not affected by 'whatever' is causing this.

5. Nasty work around
   Don't use Mozilla to view IMAP messages :-(
   Instead browse to http://demo.horde.org/stable/horde/imp/
   and see how it PROPERLY retireves the above problem messages
   by IMAP and regurgitates an pretty HTML version.
   Ergo, something about Mozilla's IMAP support is not handling
   certain messages well, even though other IMAP MUA seem to
   handle the same messages fine.

  - Mozilla opens
  - Mail window opens, asks for password to mail.zaptech.com IMAP server
  - NVidia email message selected
    it aborts or something, view pane shows part of the message
  - another email is select (one which has no issues)
    it displays in view pane fine
  - NVidia email message selected again
    it spins for at least 5 minutes
    view pane does not show anything
  - I get tired of waiting, so a choose Quit Mozilla from menu
    application exits normally

I have been seeing something that I believe is related to this.  

-Create an IMAP mail account
upon completion of that account creation, I expect mail to ask me for the
password. Instead, the app seems to be thinking.  
-Click "Stop"
a message pops up saying that the server is not an IMAP4 server.
-click get message
the expected password dialog pops up
-enter the password and proceed with account use with no problem from then on.

can you try this in a recent 1.5 trunk build? The message might have an embedded
null, and I fixed a bug in our handling of those kinds of messages in 1.5.
