Steps to reproduce:

Visit most websites with JavaScript. Firefox will crash. Test website is etsy homepage. Firefox is installed through Flatpak.

Actual results:

Firefox crashes.

Expected results:

Firefox does not crash.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Widget: Gtk
Product: Firefox → Core
Component: Widget: Gtk → JavaScript Engine

I changed the component to JavaScript. The crashes don't occur if JavaScript is disabled with uBlock Origin so I think this is warranted.

If you go to about:crashes in the address bar, you will see a list of submitted crash reports. Please link a few of your crashes so that we have something to investigate. You can either post the crash ID, which will look something like bp-db8afa72-cf34-4f78-9485-333830240809, or click the "view" button and link directly to crash-stats.mozilla.org, like this.

Note that crashing repeatedly is often a sign that there is either something wrong with your computer (bad memory is a common culprit) or your installation of Firefox (try updating and see if the crashes continue).

I ran a full memtest86 run and it all came back clean. I also reinstalled Firefox. I've checked for updates before each test run and installed several updates. Most recent crash was on 192.0.2. Here are the most recent crash report links. I have a lot more if you need them and I can replicate the crash in under a minute usually.

This is crashing in graphics code. Moving to the graphics component.

The app notes field in the crash reports indicates these seam to be running flatpak. Martin, is it possible we don't have required permissions for creating fences, or even using dmabuf at all, in this case?

(In reply to Jamie Nicol [:jnicol] from comment #8)

The app notes field in the crash reports indicates these seam to be running flatpak. Martin, is it possible we don't have required permissions for creating fences, or even using dmabuf at all, in this case?

It may be a combination of MESA version and flatpak sandbox but it's hard to say. Also the rapid drop indicates a fix on distro side (we have also crashes from ESR).

Attached file about:support text
I updated all the packages on my system and it still crashes. I'm using Ubuntu 22.04. Below is the about:support output.

The about:support text should be attached to the previous message.
