RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1882023

People

(Reporter: joshas, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0

Steps to reproduce:

Enable blocking of "Audio and Video" on website with video files.

Actual results:

Opening developer tools Network tab and fully reloading website with cache disabled does not show download requests for video files, although they are actually loaded and can be played.

Expected results:

Network tab in developer tools should always correctly display what resources are loaded, even when some of their features (like playback) are blocked due to permissions.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'DevTools::Netmonitor' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Netmonitor
Product: Firefox → DevTools

Can you share a public web page where we can reproduce this issue?
Thanks

Here's one example: https://hollisbrown.github.io/blendershortcuts/
Please note, that opening this page with devtools open will display all media files (videos) that were loaded in network tab correctly, but doing subsequent full reload with "Ctrl+Shift+R" and/or with "Disable Cache" checkbox checked - videos won't be displayed in Network tab. Could it be that videos are cached and do not respond to disabling cache of full reloads? But in that case I think they should appear in Network tab with "cached" tag.

Thanks! I can see those requests use 206 partial content, so that's probably the same as https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1882023
