Hi,
did you set the issue to "WORKSFORME" because of this additional comment from me? If so, it is a misunderstanding. I should have added to the comment "but the issue persists".
But meanwhile I found one reason: One local folder was not checked for global search. My fault. After checking that option previously not displayed messages where displayed.
Nevertheless the issue persists.
Today I moved messages to 2 local folders. One has "sent" flag, the other "trash" flag.
For all messages moved to the local trash folder the issue is back.
They are displayed in the global search but not in the list view of the global search, not when clicked on in the global search and not in the trash folder although the trash folder has the correct number of messages stored there. And the messages are in the respective Windows folder.
Repairing the folder and restarting Thunderbird don't help.
Currently there are 681 files in the Windows folder and Thunderbird says that there are 681 messages in that folder. But there are only 226 messages to be seen in that Thunderbird folder.

The local sent folder is the standard sent folder for that account. Only messages from my phone are stored in the IMAP sent folder and I move them to the locals sent folder in Thunderbird.
A local trash folder as standard trash folder is not possible in Thunderbird.
I mention this in case this difference is a reason why the messages in the local sent folder are displayed correct but not in the local trash folder.

There is currently one search issue, bug 1907603, fixed in beta but not yet in version 128. I'm not sure it is related.
They are displayed in the global search but not in the list view of the global search, not when clicked on in the global search and not in the trash folder although the trash folder has the correct number of messages stored there. And the messages are in the respective Windows folder.
Normally messages in trash folder and spam folder are not shown on the search results screen, called facet search results. You would see results for messages not in trash or spam.
Currently there are 681 files in the Windows folder and Thunderbird says that there are 681 messages in that folder. But there are only 226 messages to be seen in that Thunderbird folder.
Perhaps this is the crux of the issue. this is the local folder?

I activated the option to allow global search for that folder and global search results show all messages in that folder, but as said in list view and when clicking in the result only part of the messages can be displayed.

Yes, this is the local folder with trash label. I could not find out what kind of messages are missing. There are messages missing that have been deleted months ago and some have been deleted these days. (I use the trash folder for storing completed messages for a while before they shall be deleted completely automatically.)

Messages with trash flag will not be synced, I think. For sure those in a trash folder.
Wayne, should this be an extra bug?
STR: message was stored in drafts while offline, so it goes into the subfolder drafts under local.
subfolder drafts is set to be indexed
apparently, the email also exists as copy in another folder2
Result: global search shows only the occurrance in folder 2.
expected result: show message in folder2 and in local/drafts.
Due to tags, the messages can be "different" even if they have the same hdrmessageId, so both instances should be shown.
