Build: 2003-01-30-04-trunk OS: RH7.2 Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch installer 2. Select a directory with Ja directory name as the install destination The installer pops up an error as below: Error[-624]: Can't make destination directory. Please try another directory.

I failed install into a JA directory on RH7.3, but has no problem with RH8.0 though.
When I tried this again in RH7.3, it works now.
is this regression? are you installed with Japanese locale ?
Here is the mystery: I have the installer downloaded to my home directory, then I tried to install the build as root. It looks like installer needs to write something (maybe some temporary files) into the installer directory, in this case, my home directory. Since root doesn't have permission to write into my home directory, it gives out the error. After I grant the write permission to that directory to root, the error is not seen anymore. The error message is very misleading. Anyway, this has nothing to do with installer i18n.
