19149 - black bar drawn through picture and mangled text

Description

When this page is almost completely rendered an animated gif (IFRAME I think)
appears in the top of the screen and the page contents is redrawn to make place
for it. After that you see that through the row of little icons on the to of the
page a black bar has been drawn. Also some of the text in the middle part of
the screen partly disappeared leaving only a few pixels.


steps to reproduce,
simply call up the page and watch closely.

additional information. Problem is reproducable alhough the exact rsults differ.
if the page is redrawn (not reloaded) the problem disappers.

I just checked this on a win98 build from 11-21-99.
The image bar (that looks like icons) is displayed ok
at the top of the page. Then the animating image comes
in above it and the original image is moved down. The
image is now clipped on the top and bottom edge.

I'll dig into this a bit more, but it may be a layout problem.

I also saw (win98, 256 colors) discoloration in the background
image where the orignal iconlike image(toolbar.gif) was redrawn. This occured
across the whole x dimen of the repaint for toolbar.gif.

This looks like an odd layout bug that only
shows up on win98. I had to borrow use of a
QA machine to build it.
I'm not sure who should get this. Troy would you
reassign to the right person?
