Build 2003013108 winXP Reproducible : always 1 go to preferences/appearance/fonts 2 change the default font size for monospace fonts to 20 for instance (you have mail display set to use fixed font size) 3 open messages Expected result : all messages should inherit the font size in preferences and display text as 16px Actual result : it works for all messages but those with UTF-8 encoding. The font family is inherited though.
Which encoding family did you set the font-size for? Did you set it for "Unicode"? Is this a problem in the browser too?
Here are all my parameters : Proportional font is set to Sans-serif (verdana) 18 Monospace is set to Lucida-Console 16 In Navigator/languages, default character coding is ISO8859-1 In MailNews/Message display, "Fixed width font" is selected In MailNews/Message display, character coding is set to ISO8859-15 In MailNews/composition, character coding is set to ISO8859-15 I haven't seen this problem with web pages but there are not so many coded with UTF characters and The fact that I set a minimum font size in preferences could hide it.
> Proportional font is set to Sans-serif (verdana) 18 > Monospace is set to Lucida-Console 16 For what encoding? Those are per-encoding settings, not global.
oops, my fault. I checked my mail in a profile in which I forgot to change the monospace font size for unicode encoding. Resolving Bug as Invalid.
