User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Having installed the Russian then British localisation packs some (third party) menu items remained Russian. Attempting to correct the problem I used "File" > "Preferences"... to switch language to US, restarted Moz, switched back to British and restarted again. Didn't help. Next I deleted both the (unwanted, I thought) contented packs - US & Russian - then restarted Mozilla. Among the effects I have noticed so far are... -No captions on the "File" and "Edit" menus which are reduced to blank areas of around 4x10 pixels. -Missing entries from the "File" and "Edit" menus (including, of course, "Preferences"!) -Mozilla icon beside url bar no longer animated or linked to mozilla.org -History window loads but neither double clicking an entry nor right click > "copy url" have any effect. Probably many more :*( Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Russian then GB localisation packs 2. Use Mozilla for a few weeks, maybe switch language a few times but leave ste to GB 3. Uninstall Russian and US content packs. 4. Restart Mozilla Actual Results: Mozilla starts in an unusable state, displaying the following error message in the status bar... <broadcaster id="Communicator:WorkMode" --^ Expected Results: Mozilla should have worked, or refused to let me break it, or at least told me I was uninstalling something essential! Bug not fixed by reinstalling over previous installation. Any thoughts for repair greatly appreciated (other than "uninstall Mozilla, delete the app's folder, reinstall, spend the rest of your life reinstalling spellchecker, other "projects", dictionaries, language packs, plugins, themes...") Help!
Have same Problem. No Pulldown-Menus and error-msg in status bar: <broadcaster id="Communicator:WorkMode" Tested with 2004-10-04 Builds of Latest-Trunk and 0.8 Trunk. I also tested previous builds from 2004-10-01-06 to now. Always same result. Tested 2004-10-04 Build (Latest-Trunk) on clean copy of winxp. Same Result
