Enhancement Request

I am often looking at some tab other than any Folder Tab, e.g. Calendar, Tasks, etc.

Actual results:

I don't see any visual cue - in the UI - that I have new messages.

I realize I can get alerts, system notifications, and/or an indicator on the taskbar button, but I find alerts and notifications too distracting,

And amongst all the buttons on the taskbar, that one tiny count on the taskbar button gets lost. And my eyes are not looking down there. They're up, looking at all the different windows on my 3-monitor desktop while I'm busy working.

Expected results:

Add some kind of Tool that can be added to the Toolbar. It could list the total and/or unread and/or new message counts for each account - or for some selected account(s). And/or just a "New Message" indicator.

Add a "New Message" indicator to Folder Tab Buttons. Perhaps including a new message count like in the Folders List.

If I knew how to have an extension get notifications when new message are received and how the extension could get message count information I might be able to even experiment with creating an extension to do some of these things.
