1918338 - All CFRs are empty on Android 6, 7, and 8

Precondition

Make sure to have a clean Fenix Nightly profile.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open a website.
2. Go to the homescreen, and observe the first CFR displayed.
3. Open 4 more new pages in new tabs, in order to trigger another CFR.
4. Sign in with a valid account, and observe the CFR.

Expected behavior

All the CFRs are displayed without issues, the text is visible.

Actual behavior

All the CFRs are empty.

Device information

• Firefox version: Nightly 132.0a1 from 9/11
• Android device: Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite (Android 7)

Any additional information?

• NOT reproducible on Lenovo TB X606X (Android 10), Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (Android 14)

Tom, are we removing this particular CFR about the tablet tab strip? Do you have a bug # for removing the CFR? We can close this bug as a duplicate of that bug. If you don't have a bug already, we can repurpose this bug to remove the CFR.

Chris, the CFR displayed in the screenshot certainly appears to be the "Navigation for Tablets" CFR, which has been removed in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1918698 (this is this first 'tablet' CFR displayed).

Worth noting that are more CFRs planned to be added as part of the toolbar project that could still have the same issue.

Not only the CFR from the screenshot was empty, all the CFRs were empty, am mentioned in the steps to reproduce.

Sorry I missed that this bug affected CFRs, not just the toolbar CFR.

I wonder if this is an issue with the Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite device or Android 7. Do we have any other devices running Android 7?

I was able to reproduce this also on the Fenix Nightly 132.0a1 with:

• LG Nexus 5 (Android 6.0.1),
• Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (Android 7.1.1), and on
• HTC 10 (Android 8).

I'll update the title of the bug.
NOT reproducible on Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Android 9).
