Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Regarding Mozilla's Mail Client: When clicking on the button for composing a new message, the whole program stops, and I have to shut it down using Ctrl+alt+delete buttons. The mail program also stops when clicking a link referring to a Email account. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Clicking the 'compose' a new message button 2. Clicking on any 'reply' button 3. Clicking a link leading to a E-Mail account Actual Results: The program stops, mouse and keyboard doesn't work (Crash) Expected Results: Open a 'compose' dialog box as it should. Don't know how to trace this
sounds like a hang, not a crash, and it's been reported before. Try this: -Quit mozilla -delete XUL.mfl in your profile dir (it's a cache and rebuilds if missing) -now restart Any change?
Summary: Crash when I click on compose a new message button → Crash when I click on compose a new message button
Reporter mailed: -- "Yes, it helped! What caused this? Will this happen again?" -- Reporter: XUL.mfl can get corrupted during a crash. Also by various incompatible/outdated addons (for instance themes) can also break it. This bug may have been fixed recently, but follow the Installation Notes when you upgrade nexxt time. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 169777 ***
