Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212
When Windows passes a URL of 243 or more characters to mozilla, and mozilla is
already open it tries to open the URL "1" instead of the URL passed to it.
Internet Explorer is not affected by this. This bug was in the 1.2 series as well.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a windows shortcut to
"http://aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
(Right Click the Desktop-> New-> Shortcut)
2. Lauch the shortcut, or at the command prompt type "start http://aaaaa...(Url
from above)"
3. Leave that mozilla window open and launch the shortcut again. A 2nd mozilla
will open and try to connect to 1.
Actual Results:
The bug...
Expected Results:
Gone to the URL that was passed to it.

I can reproduce this, too. If I shorten the string by a few more characters,
then I get the correct "<url> cannot be found. Please check the name and try
again" message.

I can confirm that it's still there in 1.3 final.

I don't have the problem in under 1.4 RC1 running under Windows XP.
