Steps to reproduce:
After updating to version 128.2.2esr (previous version 128.2.1esr), none of the installed emails worked anymore (office365, gmail, etc). No error message, seemed offline, not receiving/sending anything. The only fix was to reinstall 128.2.1esr. How to switch to version 128.2.2esr is stuck. I have Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, OS Build: 22631.4169.
Disable antivirus, restart laptop, reinstall Thunderbird, change network, change networ adapter (local network to wifi). No results.
Actual results:
I reinstalled the version 128.2.1esr, so everything started working.
Expected results:
The update is done automatically, I did not expect that a new version would completely block the application. No error message, nothing to suggest that the application is not working. I saw the e-mails coming in on my smartphone and that's how I realized that thunderbird is not working.
They are not the same symptoms as the bug 1919622.

Radu, does https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1919695#c10 solve your issue?
I will try and come back with an answer.
So, version 128.2.2esr only works if it is installed on a new PC, for the first time. If you upgrade from verse 128.2.1esr it does not work.
@Waine : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1919695#c10 solve issue, but here too the profile is made from 0, it is not installed over the old profile, so it is not a practical solution.

Default profile selection depends on the install path (profile per install path).
Can you please start with "thunderbird.exe -P" and select the original profile?
@Magnus Melin [:mkmelin] : Since it's a job email, I don't really want to make him crazy. I have many mailboxes in it and the way it is going now, I would prefer to leave it like that until a stable version without bugs comes out.

Well, we need someone who can reproduce the bug in an existing profile to verify it's fixed. (AFAIK, a new profile will always work.)
