Steps to reproduce:
On Fedora 40 install Firefox as flatpak
In settings check “Always ask you where to save files”
Try to download any file
Actual results:
Download icon in top right corner does not appear
File is not listed in Downloads
File is saved as random code with .part at the end instead of actual name
Expected results:
File is saved properly

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::File Handling' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Could you please attach a screencast of the issue, so we can check what is happening visually.
The other thing, when this happens, could you please open the Browser Console (from main menu / Other Tools) go to the most recent errors and check if anything related to downloads appear, or just report those errors here.
Finally, attaching a log from about:support to this bug report would allow us to check some basic information about your browser.
I checked the bug after installing latest fedora updates and all seems to be working fine.
