I was trying to write some instructions for users on how to get error console messages. This would be a lot simpler if the console could be opened from the App Menu (under Help?). The developer toolbox can be opened from there, which is similar but much more confusing for users.

Easier access/Easier instructions definitely would be better.
Wasn't Error Console originally in the Tools menu? (toolbar)

It is, but the toolbar is hidden by default.
The 'Menu Bar' toolbar which is hidden by default, but it is now important that it is enabled because the Menu app icon has very few options.
Would it not just be easier to have 'Menu Bar' toolbar enabled by default.
If people do not want or need it then it can be disabled.
It's a lot harder for people to enable it - in particular those who do not have such a good memory or poor eyesight and auto look top left for menu items because that is the normal place they are located.

It is, but the toolbar is hidden by default.
Only for new users.
Note, I wasn't disagreeing with the idea of adding it to App Menu
