Environment:
Operating system: Windows 10
Firefox version: Firefox 130.0

Preconditions:
"Open posts in new tab" setting enabled from the account

Steps to reproduce:

1. Navigate to: https://www.reddit.com
2. Perform account login
3. Open any post from reddit using left-click
4. Observe the old tab URL

Expected Behavior:
The old tab keeps the URL

Actual Behavior:
The old tab takes the URL of the new tab

Notes:

• Reproduces regardless of the status of ETP
• Reproduces in Firefox Nightly, and Firefox Release
• Does not reproduce in Chrome
• Middle click works as expected
• Access: https://new.reddit.com/settings/feed to enable the setting
• There is a Reddit post about this, too https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1ek8tzx/reddit_opening_a_post_in_new_tab_puts_the_new_url/

I think this is exactly bug 1915888, but my search query for a duplicate focused on new tab instead of new page. Feel free to close it as a dupe, if that is the case
