Steps to reproduce:

Can't Dismiss or dismiss all on notification from the calendar with both local and a CalDAV calendar running.

Actual results:

The window pop-up with events notifications, but you can't click on the button for dismiss or dismiss all. Nothing happens. So you a left with closing the window. So later on the pop-up will return with same moment 22 procedure.
Exact same issue as reported before. Now seen in latest ESR Thunderbird again. Dismiss and Dismiss all does nothing.
At least give an error if it failed.
Only workaround is to uncheck "Show missed reminders for writeable calendars".
The pop-up appears every few seconds which means it makes Thunderbird impossible to use.

Expected results:

Dismiss and dismiss all has worked before in earlier version of Thunderbird with CalDAV and the same user and the local calendar created in application itself. Nothing has change for the calendar.
At least give an error if it failed with reason. Even crashing would be better than this. As it would let use thunderbird for few more moments on next start.

I had an almost identical issue with a different CalDav backend.

For me, it seems to mostly affect recurring events.

Suggested workaround:

  • Under the calendar properties, see if there's an "Offline Support" checkbox.
  • If the box exists, and "Offline Support" is on, Try turning it off.

After I did that, I got one more notice, and this time the dismiss button actually worked. Also, events that I had previously tried to delete, were actually removed from my calendar.

I speculate that the local and online copies are getting out of sync, in such a way that generates errors in the calendar system that prevent them from being brought back into sync again.

Having the same issue. For me, it popped up this week (and refuses to pop back down). Updated to 128.8.1esr (64-bit), but no change. (I was pretty up to date before, but don't recall exactly which version).

Same issue, 128.11.0esr (64-bit), Win 11, Google calendar. Installed plugins: Provider for Google Calendar, Lightning Calendar Tabs.

My workaround: Delete the offending event in the calendar. This will also dismiss the whole "dismiss" dialog if that is the only event in the list.
