Steps to reproduce

  1. Click the Continue with Google button.
  2. Enter valid credentials and Click the Continue button.

Expected result

  • After Loging in to Google and Pressing the continue button the user should be logged in to the Anthropic Claude AI.

I think this might be an issue with the AI provider but Im not entirely sure. This was not an issue before.

I have a similar issue, logging in with the email option, that the sidebar doesn't refresh after completing the login process, into the corresponding chatbot.

Longer description: As shown in OPs short MP4, the sidebar version of the AI chatbot, once logged in does not update to a logged in status, no matter if you login using Google or Email.

I'm here because I went the other route and logged in using my email address, and not logging in using Google, and my experience has OP's but, and an additional bug.

email login bug: the login screen after choosing "login with email", opens to a login screen that requests a verification code that will be sent to your email. HOWEVER, the email you receive DOES NOT include a code, but instead provides a login-link-button, not a verification code.

MAIN bug: after login is complete, Claude opens on a browser tab, but the Anthropic chatbot sidbar remains on the "input emailed code" or in case of OP another type of login screen.

THE CURRENT WORKAROUND FOR USER: Close the sidebar chatbot by hitting the X in the upper right corner, and reopen the chatbot and... it will open with the chatbot active and ready for your prompts (but you'll need to be currently logged in, as prompted by the AI chatbot's platform). This option isn't apparent, so I kept cycling through the login sequence, much like OP did in their mp4, hoping the sidebar screen would refresh to a logged in state.

FIX NEEDED: Either send an email that provides a code (this will only fix my email login bug). Or fix both login issues (mine and OP's bug) Have the sidebar auto detect when the user is signed in with the corresponding chatbot, and then automatically refresh the sidebar to open in a logged in state. If this option is chosen, which fixes both login issues, the best practice would be to also change the email verification login method to not request a code, but to continue to send the current login-button email.

You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
