Prerequisites:
- Ensure a screen reader is running, i.e. NVDA on WinOS
STR:
- Open Firefox on the New Tab page
- Navigate to the "Personalize New Tab" (gear icon) button and activate it
- On the "Personalize New Tab" dialog, locate and navigate to either of wallpaper groups, i.e. to
Photographs - Activate the group control (with a mouse only, until the bug 1922664 is fixed)
- Observe a screen reader announcement when the group view, i.e. "Photographs", is opened
Expected:
- The screen reader user is made aware that the view of the dialog has changed, i.e. by the group label being announced with the group label.
Actual:
- Nothing is announced, it is not clear if anything, in fact, has happened.
Remediation recommendation:
- Follow the WAI ARIA Dialog pattern, ensure the container of the dialog has an appropriate
roleand label, and place the keyboard focus on either the container of the updated dialog itself (withtabindex="-1" and JavaScript) or on the topmost focusable element on the dialog, in this case the< {group}` back button
