RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1867094

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:131.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/131.0

Steps to reproduce:

I started composing a new message in rich text mode. The window is narrower than the formatting toolbar.

Actual results:

Lines extended to a point beyond the right window margin before they were wrapped, so some of the text at the end of every line was invisible until I manually scrolled right, or widened the window. The minimum width of the line seems to match the width of the formatting toolbar. If the window is wider than the toolbar, wrapping follows the right margin. The problem only occurs when the window is narrower than the toolbar.

I have been seeing this for a long time. This is not a new issue (v128.3.1esr).

Expected results:

Line wrapping should follow the width of the window, even if that is narrower than the formatting toolbar.

I just realised this is made worse by the fact that the width of the formatting toolbar changes dynamically as you select menu options (eg font) with longer/shorter names. That means lines can be unexpectedly reflown in front of your eyes simply because you selected a font/paragraph format with longer/shorter name. Not to mention that for some users the formatting toolbar contains too many buttons that can't be removed, which makes that minimum window width too much.
