Details
I think there are a couple of relatively simple changes that can be made to the
configuration choices for htDig on www.mozilla.org that will improve the search
results found on www.mozilla.org.
1. use noindex_start and noindex_end to remove the boilerplate in the templates
from the indexing.
http://htdig.org/attrs.html#noindex_start
By default, these values are <!--htdig_noindex--> <!--/htdig_noindex--> and can
be used in the template.html and template-nomenu.html files to surround the
boilerplate and remove any hits being generated due to matches with boilerplate
text.
2. use use_meta_description to allow authors to control the search excerpt that
appears in the results.
