Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210
If Mozilla is set as the default browser in Mac OSX, links from Mail.app and
other applications cause Mozilla to recursively open more and more windows. The
only solution I have found is to close mozilla and open it again.
Strangely enough, R (www.r-project.org) doesn't seem to elicit this problem ..
but then again, it probably uses a VERY DIFFERENT API to call the browser.
Also, making a webpage (anything.html) and using "open anything.html" from the
commandline, or double clicking on it doesn't cause an error.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send yourself an email with a link in it
2. Open it in Apple's Mail.app
3. Click on the link.
4. Watch the fireworks.
Actual Results:
Mozilla spontaneously opened windows all with the same URL and continued to do so.
Expected Results:
It should have either opened a single window, or opened the page in the current
window/tab.
none.
sounds like bug 181454, but the fix went in on Jan 31st.

Rishi... can you recreated this with any other app? I haven't yet seen it with
Entourage, Fire or NetNewsWireLite (1.3b or recent nightlies/OS X) Don't use
Mail.app myself but i could set it up if noone else can confirm

This does sound a lot like bug 181454. I actually had looked for that and
couldn't find it. Upon upgrading to Moz 1.3b I got a different (and still
somewhat problematic) problem. Instead of opening many windows, it opens another
Mozilla (if mozilla was already running) and asks for a different profile. Then
it goes on and works properly.
After this new mozilla is open, everything works fine (from the different
profile of couse). So, I guess the problem should be downgraded to opening a new
mozilla instead of using the currently opened one.

While we're at it, another bug has popped up. I don't know if I should list it
here or in a new bug report.
When you have two mozillas open (from the earlier madness), if you click on a
link in the Mail.app (or other apps), BOTH mozillas pop up the new page.
This one is a dup. Rishi, as for your other problems, ensure you have the
correct Mozilla executable selected in your Internet/Web preferences. If you
still experience problems, file new bugs.
