User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/129.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Using Thunderbird 128.3.3esr on MacOS Sonoma 14.7 with mail encryption
When receiving encrypted messages (via PGP) with attachments, the attachment can no longer be opened directly from Thunderbird. The file type does not seem to play a role here, nor does the program you select to open the attachment in the dialogue.
If you save the files to your hard disk in the mail client first and then open them from the file system, it works without problems.
With unencrypted messages, opening them directly from Thunderbird still works without any problems.
The problem must have come with one of the last two esr versions.
Actual results:
An attachment couldn't be opened directly from within Thunderbird. I first have to download the attachment and open it outside of Thunderbird.
I receive the following log message:
NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED: Component returned failure code: 0x80470002 (NS_BASE_STREAM_CLOSED) [nsIInputStream.available] NetUtil.sys.mjs:445
readInputStream resource://gre/modules/NetUtil.sys.mjs:445
buffer resource:///modules/AttachmentInfo.sys.mjs:214
onStopRequest resource://gre/modules/NetUtil.sys.mjs:124
Expected results:
The attachment can be opened directly from within Thunderbird, by selecting an application to open the attachment with.
