User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:131.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/131.0
Steps to reproduce:
I was told to refile because I didn't provide enough information, but there weren't error messages. I am using the latest version of Firefox on an HP Victus 15 running Windows 11. I don't know how to explain a step-by-step process to not having audio so here goes.
1)I open up Firefox to play media on YouTube. The tester videos were Ginny Di and Ballad of Witches Road.
2)No sound plays.
3)I tested several other audio devices. These included a set of wired speakers, a set of wired headphones, and a set of wireless earbuds. The earbuds occasionally had sound through Firefox but the others never did.
5) YouTube has full permission to play sound and to autoplay. The video is functioning fine
6)I tested several other apps to see if they had sound, which they did.
7)I cleared my cache. It didn't help.
8)I proceeded to open other websites with audio playback to see if it was YouTube-exclusive. Hulu and Netflix also had the issues.
9)I updated drivers all around
10)I checked the DRM settings on my Firefox. It doesn't help.
11)I turned off UBlock Origin, and it didn't stop the issue
12)I could not find any permissions that were interfering with this
13)Ballad of Witches' Road plays on Firefox Android
Actual results:
Well, nothing I did had sound playback. SOMETIMES the Bluetooth earbuds would get sound from Firefox, sometimes. The only other issue I could find was that I don't have system sounds on Windows at the moment. Even still the native audio tester works.
Expected results:
So the following is a list of apps that could have full audio playback functionality at the moment. Fallout New Vegas, Google Chrome, Spotify (streamed music), Opera GX, and VLC (I played a J-drama on my hard drive). Here's the brands for every piece of audio hardware used; Bobtot speaker, Fifine headset, Sony earbuds. I have nothing else I can provide.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi aesmagnum, thanks for reporting this issue. Could this problem be reproduced in Firefox Nightly? Does it only happen in Firefox 131?
Could you test the issue in Troubleshoot Mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode?
In addition, can you upload your about:support so we can have a look about your audio settings. Thanks!
