User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:131.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/131.0
Steps to reproduce:
Display Quick Filter Bar (View\Toolbar\Quickfilterbar)
Type search term
Results may include headers that look correct or incorrect
Clicking on one of the headers displays a completely different message (not the one shown before clicking)
Actual results:
Usually all of the results appear to have something to do with the search subject, but sometimes none of them do. Clicking on any of them displays a different message with may or may not have anything to do with the search term. Scrolling up and down with arrow keys changes each email in turn to a different one which also has nothing to do with the search term. Sometimes all of the expected emails show up (*the correct ones according to the search term), but none of them will display when clicked on, they become something else.
This happens on my HP Envy windows 10 computer and also on my wife's macintosh macbook pro, both with the compatible version of Thunderbird installed. (115.16.2 for the macbook) 128.4.0esr (32-bit) for the HP Envy
Expected results:
List of headers from quick filter should correspond or sync with the actual search term, and clicking on one of the results should display the actual email whose header I clicked on. Clicking on one of the headers should not make it change into a different header.

To read emails, you must clear the Quick Filter Bar in order to re-synchronize the email list and the preview window. If the correct search term happened to show up in the search results, you can memorize the date and go find it manually. Clicking on it will not bring up the correct email. Scrolling up and down with the arrow key brings up a completely different set of emails every time you go up and down.

Note: I tried "folder properties\repair folder" and this does not fix the problem.

Since 128, I have the same problem (Kubuntu 24.04). Sometimes. Additionally, regularly, with Quick Filter no result at all is displayed. As workaround, I press Enter in the Quick Filter Bar to open Global Search. This somehow invalidates the "Quick filtered" view and the results are displayed. Very annoying, I must say.

Mark, Please save a testcase message with all header lines (redacted if needed), and post it to the bug or email me or mkmelin
