RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1917989

Details

Steps to reproduce:

Reinstalled Firefox for Android, both beta and stable. Logged out of my firefox account on all devices and logged back in.

A post on reddit had indicated that invalid json data was being sent by Firefox Android.

Actual results:

Firefox Sync is not syncing tabs from mobile device. I can't see any of the open tabs that I have on my mobile phone or tablet on my Windows PC. The sync is working normally the other way (from Windows to Android) though.

This has been happening for a couple of months now, but I'm not sure which release

Expected results:

Synced tabs should work both ways.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Fenix::Accounts and Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: General → Accounts and Sync

I'm experiencing the exact same bug. It blocks my adoption of Firefox on the desktop. It's been broken for me for roughly half a year.

Additional observation: The tabs sync up from Firefox Android to Firefox macOS on the very first time right after setting up syncing after logging out. Afterwards, the "Synced Tabs" page on Firefox macOS completely stop being updated. Very annoying.

Sorry you hit this and it took so long for us to find. A fix for Nightly has landed in bug 1917989 and it should make its way to Beta soon.
