Steps to reproduce:

I make changes in bookmarks (add, delete, change). At the same time, Firefox downloads the update. Then I click the "Restart to update".

Actual results:

Firefox is updated and all changes in bookmarks are lost.

Expected results:

Firefox is updated and all changes in bookmarks saved.

Unfortunately I could not reproduce your issue. After updating Firefox, all bookmark edits were saved. Do you have any configurations that were changed in Firefox?
Could you please attach your about:support info?
